Brown kraft paper curtains were a huge hit at market!

Because we had a premier booth at market, we were required to have a "special" backdrop instead of the usual pipe and drape curtains. I came up with kraft paper curtains with "aluminum" Dritz grommets (really plastic!) and they were a huge hit with our customers. I'm getting daily emails asking how I made them: I cut the kraft paper to length, 8', and using the template that came with the grommets, I cut holes in the paper. The grommets then snapped into place. I tied them to the aluminum poles with heavy jute twine. Rustic yet refined!

Holiday Decorating Ideas

This really is the most wonderful time of the year and I love decorating my home for the holidays. I have a collection of 400+ vintage mercury glass ornaments and every year I find new ways to display them. This year they've found their way into a huge sea shell, a bird bath, antique silver serving tray and (ta da) our Christmas tree. I have so much fun every year glittering practically everything in sight: Christmas ornaments, pinecones, leaves and photos... you name it. Be sure to use German glass glitter (tiny bits of crushed glass) in silver, clear or a mixture of both.

Bentley has style

Bentley, our cocker mutt, is developing his own style. Today he prefers lounging in the linen zebra print chair with the Belgian linen down-filled pillow. Tomorrow - who knows?

We stumbled upon this deserted farmhouse on one of our recent trips to Belgium. There was no evidence that anyone had lived there in the recent past - oh how I wish those walls could talk. My husband, aka "The Chicken", watched me explore the property from our rented truck and I had an absolute blast!

Just arrived: White x White iron & old pine furniture

We just received our container of White x White Belgian inspired furniture today. All pieces are made from iron and old pine with a wonderful patina. Some pieces have plank tops and some have beautiful parquet tops. When I was in Antwerp last summer I saw some of these pieces in antique shops and, although not antique, they work well with antiques and keep them fresh. I love them so much I'll be taking some home with me!
