Holiday Decorating Ideas
This really is the most wonderful time of the year and I love decorating my home for the holidays. I have a collection of 400+ vintage mercury glass ornaments and every year I find new ways to display them. This year they've found their way into a huge sea shell, a bird bath, antique silver serving tray and (ta da) our Christmas tree. I have so much fun every year glittering practically everything in sight: Christmas ornaments, pinecones, leaves and photos... you name it. Be sure to use German glass glitter (tiny bits of crushed glass) in silver, clear or a mixture of both.

Over 400, huh? That means you have a love for mercury glass before it had its current popular revival. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new line.
I love mercury glass too, and the collection in the shell is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI started my collection with the purchase of about 150 mercury glass ornaments from a shop in eastern Holland, near the German border. They are so thin and fragile I break a few every year. Amazing how they've survived this long and then I break them just putting them in a bowl!
