Fence in Belgium

I could write a book on "Fences in Belgium". This fence is made of concrete. Who would have thought?

Belgian Beauties

This dining vignette was snapped in an antique shop in Antwerp, Belgium. Bare woods, neutral palette, bluestone flooring. Ahhh...

Pear Tree at Gallery Classic

I live in Kansas. I love spring, but it sure hasn't seemed much like spring lately. Today I took Bentley for a walk, camera in hand, searching for photo ops with the theme of "White". Gallery Classic has the most beautiful pear tree in front and today it was in full bloom. I snapped a dozen or so photos of the pear tree in all its' glory. This will be the last spring Gallery Classic will be in the big, old stone castle. As much as I want to cut back on my hours and move the wholesale and retail under one roof, I'll miss this old building. It dates to 1907 and was the dream child of an English architect. Built with Kansas field stone, the sprawling structure was once the club house for White Lakes Golf Course. A golfer in the l930's boasted that he held the world record for the longest drive. He hit his ball hard, jacked it off to the left and it bounced into the coal car of a passing train. Went all the way to Texas.

Concrete Seashell Birdbath

I bought this gorgeous concrete birdbath at Round Top, Texas last fall. It's a Richard Taylor original. Richard, originally from Scotland, now lives stateside in Georgia. Each of his pieces is truly a work of art. At Christmas I filled this beauty with vintage mercury glass ornaments and what a statement it made!

Vintage white cast iron urn

I've had this wonderful vintage cast iron urn for as long as I can remember. I bought it in Belgium years ago and I love the simplicity of it. The patina is buttery smooth and it stands alone quite nicely, but at Christmas time I place a huge mercury glass ornament on top and it's truly stunning!

White x White lanterns

White x White lanterns are a fabulous way in which to showcase your treasures. Be creative and let your imagination run wild. I love organic beauties (think cholla wood, tumbleweeds, seashells, etc.). Use antique books or a vintage camera as a pedestal underneath small statues or other objects of desire. A fireplace is the perfect place to perch your finished lantern showcase.
